The university atlas project aims to enhance the discoverability of scholarly research and the communities advancing its frontier.

Research

The University Atlas project is a world-wide effort to map the frontiers of human knowledge.

Discovery

Maps of research communities are an invaluable tool for new students and established researchers alike, offering orientation and insight into new areas of advancement.

Connection

Recent advances in AI have enabled a new way to visualize the relationships between research findings, revealing how these findings are connected across diverse fields of inquiry.

Alexander von Humboldt's 1807 "Geographie der Pflanzen in den Tropen-Ländern," mapping the relationship between elevation, temperature, precipitation, and plant species on the Chimborazo volcano in Ecuador. It illustrated for the first time how geography, climate, and biology are directly linked, and the value of interrelating knowledge across fields.
